Flags of Valor

Flags of Valor

Handcrafted antiqued and distressed pieces of American Art.

Flags Of Valor is far more than a veteran-run business. From our inception, we've been driven by two distinct ideas.  First, that our combat veterans deserve opportunity. Second, the belief that Made in America still matters. Our team is exceptional and constantly growing. The majority of our craftsman are service-disabled, with significant combat-related injuries.  We've created an environment where teamwork is foundational and camaraderie is supreme.

Brian’s military service began in the US Army as a paratrooper in the 82nd Airborne. He briefly left active duty to attend the University of Alabama. When he witnessed the attacks of 9/11 he knew he had a calling to return to active service. Upon graduation, he attended Air Force pilot training and became a special operations pilot.

After 8 consecutive combat deployments to the Middle East, Afghanistan, and the Horn of Africa, he found himself rehabbing from a service-related injury. He needed a new way to focus his mind while he rebuilt his body. Throughout his military journey he was constantly surrounded with symbols – flags, coins, patches, people, efforts – all reminders of the motivation to serve. During rehabilitation he didn’t wear a uniform, he didn’t wear his flag. He had a lingering question: “Where’s your flag?”

He began woodworking, devoting himself to building a handcrafted custom piece of pure Americana. After many attempts he failed to produce a product he was proud of. His woodworking went from a hobby to an obsession. His abilities transformed from novice to craftsman, and his focus became a passion. He began producing world class works of art. After donating several pieces to the families of fallen EOD soldiers, he realized there was a lot more work to do.

Brian transformed his passion into Flags Of Valor, a Veteran-owned, Veteran-operated, Veteran-made company, crafting beautiful works of American art. His dream became a reality – employing veterans, raising money for veteran and first-responder charities, and providing Americans with an exceptional product. Whether you are military, first responders, public servants, educators, business people, or simply proud Americans who love your country, he has one question: ”Where’s your flag?'
Every flag begins its journey as raw wood specifically sourced from southern pine forests. Our artists hand select each plank for its grain, knots, and natural characteristics, then assemble into a blank canvas. Once the reverse is stained, they transition to the fine detail work of painting the 13 stripes, laying out the blue union, and delicately filling the field of stars. Each flag then goes through a lengthy antiquing process to highlight the intricacies of the wood until it is finally finished with polyurethane to protect it for many years to come.

We are privileged to work with America's best. Our artists aren't just veterans, they are all combat veterans...many service disabled. Producing this beautiful product is more than a job. For some, it has even become a purpose and a therapeutic transition.

I purchased the 'First Responder' and the 'Phantom Fury'. I first learned about Flags of Valor by seeing their display at one of the Dulles Expo Gun Shows and was struck first by how awesome are the flags, and then by the story and service of owner and his craftsmen. They continue to support the community of military and first responders - - - how can you not love these guys?! Now that I have them in my hands (and on my wall), I can confirm that the flags are extremely well made, beautifully crafted works of art. Each were signed on back and came with a note card signed by the veterans who created it. I purchased one for me, and one as a surprise gift for my son. Their website is extremely easy to navigate so head on over there and get your FOV; you won't regret it! Where's your flag?

While walking around at the Oaks Gun Show in Pennsylvania this Thin Red Line American Flag stood out. Made from sturdy solid wood, signed by the artist from F.OV., and even comes with a thank you card with members from F.O.V. My wife and I purchased it, and we could not be any happier. I would like to thank F.O.V. for the professional, and humble experience from one of your own Bill. We will be sure to spread the word about your amazing artwork to all of our friends and family. This Thin Red Line American Flag hangs proudly in our home. Thank you very much!

I received my F.O.V. flag as a grand opening gift for my husband and my new business. I couldn't tell for sure who had signed our flag, so I messaged F.O.V. to ask. I received a personal response back, answering my question and wishing us good luck on the new business. Our flag is beautiful and expertly made, and the team members are exceptional people! Oh, and since our son is a West Point grad, I was secretly wishing for our signature to be from an Army Veteran... thanks, Travis!
