StreetShares is a revolution in small business funding. Small businesses create a personalized pitch for a small business loan, and investors compete to fund any part of the loan.
StreetShares is a social lending marketplace that connects small business owners with investors. Small business owners create business pitches to request loans from institutional and retail investors. Investors make bids to back portions of the loans to the small business. The end result: Small business owners get the loans they need, and investors get the returns they require.
We’re faster and more accommodating than a bank, less expensive than costly online lenders, and we only fund small businesses. On StreetShares, you become more than a number or credit score. You share your story on your application and our investors compete to fund your loan by offering you a lower rate! Need more reasons? We don’t charge an application fee or prepayment fee. Oh yeah, and we personally back a portion of your loan.
We offer 6 month as well as 1, 2, & 3 year term loans under $75,000. We plan to accommodate larger loan requests in the future. We may also approve a loan for posting on the marketplace for an amount lower than the full loan amount requested by the borrower.
Applying online is simple and can take less than 10 minutes. If you’d rather have a real person walk you through the process, give us a call at (800) 560-1435.
We deduct a fixed, weekly payment directly from your verified bank account on file.
If a business borrower accepts a funded loan, StreetShares will charge a pre-disclosed one-time origination fee of either 3.95% or 4.95%. Various factors will influence this fee, including term length, risk, and loan amount. During repayment of a loan, if a borrower's payment fails for any reason, a failed payment fee of $10 will be assessed. Borrowers are subject to an additional $10 late charge for any payment not received within seven (7) days of the due date of such payment.

After World War II, millions of Americans became business owners. This “greatest generation” sparked an economic boom, and America flourished. Banks were smaller, community-oriented, and supporters of small business. And business owners had access to small business loans.
Today’s small business owners face a very different environment. Strict lending regulations, big bank consolidation, and dwindling community banks leave small businesses with very few options. Business owners get to choose between difficult-to-obtain bank loans and costly online loan sharks. Learn more about Veteran entrepreneurship.
In 2013, StreetShares co-founders met for breakfast at a local diner to brainstorm a new Mainstreet funding source. The founding team had one vision: to breathe new life into the American Dream. And StreetShares was born.
On the StreetShares marketplace, small business owners can tell their story directly to investors. They pitch their business and retail and institutional investors place bids to fund a portion of their loan. It’s like Shark Tank meets eBay.
We’re so committed to growing small business, that we personally back a portion of every loan.
